2-5 years old
During this period, the child only gets acquainted with the kitchen, masters the basic operations of cooking. Give him simple tasks and do not forget to monitor the safety. This is not scary, because the main thing at this stage is to involve the child in the process.

6-8 years old
The child is older and is ready to learn more complex kitchen skills. What to offer him at this stage?
Kitchen appliances. Modern children of this age can already turn on the electric kettle, heat something in the microwave, open the can with an electric can opener, start a food processor, etc. Just remember that all this the baby should do under your supervision. And in any case, do not let him assemble and disassemble the combine, blender, meat grinder and other things where there are sharp details.
Rub the cheese. Take a large grater, a slice of cheese and let the young chef grate it for pizza, pasta or salad. But to offer something hard to rub, for example, an apple is not yet needed - the child is unlikely to have enough strength for this, while he risks injuring his fingers.
Boil the products. Under your strict guidance, the baby will be able to cook eggs, potatoes or pasta. Let him pour water into the pan and put food there. But to extract them from hot water is better for you.
Do baking. Roll out pieces of dough for pies and fill them with filling - at this age, children usually already cope with such operations. You can also instruct the baby to put pies or cookies on a baking sheet, set the time and temperature for baking (at your prompt).

9-12 years old
These children already know a lot. Therefore, it is quite possible to entrust them with serious, "adult" operations.
Pick up prescription foods. At this age, the child is already reading well. Therefore, let him choose the recipe for the dish that he would like to cook, and then he will find the necessary ingredients in the store. Of course, at the same time, it’s better for you to be near, in order to tell the young chef how to choose the right products, if necessary.
Make a salad yourself. Of course, not “Herring under a fur coat,” but something simpler. A growing child can wash, peel, cut and mix the necessary ingredients.
Use kitchen appliances. And do not just press the buttons, as in the previous age group, but lay and remove products from there.

13-16 years old
